Girls Who Code McGill

Bridging the gap in tech

Mentoring for Girls in Tech

We run free coding workshops for high school and elementary school girls! From learning Python basics to building games in Scratch, our mentorship programs aim to make tech fun and beginner-friendly.

Annual University Hackathon

Each year, we host tech-focused hackathons that bring together students from all backgrounds to solve real-world challenges, learn new skills, and build innovative projects.

Campus Events, Community

Beyond code, we host panels, conferences, skill-building workshops, and fun socials to connect students with each other and with inspiring women in tech.

About Us

Girls Who Code McGill is a student-run organization committed to closing the gender gap in technology. We aim to empower women and gender-diverse students in computer science and related fields by creating an inclusive and supportive community at McGill University.

Our club offers a wide range of opportunities to explore tech,  from beginner-friendly coding mentorship for local high school and elementary students, to university-level hackathons, workshops, speaker panels, and networking events. Whether you’re just starting out or already building advanced projects, we provide the space and support to help you grow.
